Numbered Plate Block of Four Stamps as pictured. ~ On August 15, 1957 in Bath, ME; the US Post Office Dept. commemorated the 350th anniversary of Americas commercial shipbuilding industry, which began at Popham Colony, Maine, in 1607. Depicted on the stamp is the Virginia of Sagadahock, the first American ship used in international trade. In the top right corner is the Seal of Maine, with the state motto of Maine; DIRIGO.
