This is a 7 piece set of RPG dice hand carved from natural amethyst gemstone. Each dice is unique due to the variations in color, translucency, and striations found in natural minerals. The photos were taken under professional lighting to best show the beauty of the gems. As such, the colors on your screen may be slightly different than how they appear in person. Amethyst is type of quartz that ranges in color from pale lilac to deep reddish purple. Gem and mineral hardness is measured on the Mohs scale. Amethyst ranks in at 7 out of 10 on the Mohs scale. As such amethyst is relatively durable, as long as precautions are taken to prevent scratching. Roll these dice on a soft surface such as a wool or felt dice tray. Roll the dice one at a time instead of all at once. Abrupt temperature changes can cause amethyst to fracture. Some amethyst color can fade with prolonged exposure to intense light. Amethyst can also be damaged by hydrofluoric acid, ammonium fluoride, and alkaline solutions. Amethyst can be safely cleaned with warm soapy water.
