Not a book, more of an architecturally based paper plaything. created and designed by jack stone exclusively for the museum of modern art. two book set: "ark-i-pets" and "ark-i-pets jungle". both are still in the original shrinkwrap and mint and seem to be the only such copies available. the nature of the item, an interactive paper toy, is such that mint copies other than this set do not exist. ===create architecturally inspired arctic, desert and jungle environments with brightly colored animals and landscapes. to assemble, cut along grids as indicated and fold on scored lines. animals gather at the ark for rescue or storage. the two kits contain 2 arks and pairs of: polar bears, reindeer, walrus, seals, penguins, whales, camels, kangaroos, donkeys, cows, armadillos, buffaloes, alligators, giraffes, flamingos, hippos, gorillas, panthers, elephants, monkeys, rhinos, snakes, lions and zebras. each kit includes directions. moma had high hopes for this, eb=ven getting a trademark for the name. the high quality of the papers used proved too expensive to produce at a reasonable pricepoint so the product disappeared.
